International policy news is the set of goals and strategies a nation or non-state actor pursues in its relations with other nations. This includes the regulation and promotion of foreign trade, as well as other official actions that a government may take in the global arena. Diplomacy is one of the most important responsibilities for politicians; history has shown that great military leaders have also been skilled diplomats, such as George Marshall and Dwight Eisenhower.
There are more than 190 countries in the world, and we maintain diplomatic relationships with many of them. Advances in travel and trade mean that our interactions with those nations (and their citizens) are more interconnected than ever. We must support our diplomats and other personnel at home and abroad who make U.S. policy a reality.
